No laptops. No desktops. Only desperation.
Monday – Supply Chain Drought
Clients begged for hardware. None existed.
Client: “Can you just 3D print a laptop?”
James: “CAN YOU NOT?”
Josh: “What if we use Raspberry Pis?”
Minh: “…No.”
Tuesday – Scavenger Hunt
Frank found four ThinkPads in his truck. Origin unknown.
Yusuf: “Did they… grow there?”
James auctioned them off internally. “Do I hear a bid for 8 GB RAM?”
Wednesday – DIY Desperation
Josh tried building a desktop from spare parts.
Client: “This is a toaster.”
Josh: “…Yes. But it runs Ubuntu.”
Drew: “We’ve reached peak desperation.”
Minh salvaged an old Dell, re-imaged it, and handed it over like a relic.
Thursday – Warranty Woes
Client: “Can you fix this laptop? It’s from 2012. I think it’s haunted.”
James: “No.”
Josh: “Yes.”
Minh: “…Maybe.”
They fixed it. Barely. Keyboard now only types in caps.
Friday – Black Market Vibes
Client: “I’ll trade you two monitors for a working laptop.”
James: “Done.”
Yusuf: “We’re officially a barter-based IT department.”
Frank: “Still got two ThinkPads. For emergencies only.”
Epilogue – End of the Arc
They survived the drought. Barely.
Minh labeled the remaining hardware “The Sacred Shelf.”
James whispered: “Next week, it’s printers again. I can feel it.”
Stories will restart Jan 7th 🙂
