The Chronicles of Chris: – The Air Conditioner Crisis

Friday Afternoon, 4:00 PM

Chris was getting ready to call it a day when a frantic Steve burst into the IT room.

“Chris, something’s wrong with the server room!” Steve exclaimed.

Chris immediately followed Steve, his heart racing. If the server room was down, the entire office would grind to a halt. But when he opened the door, the servers were fine. What wasn’t fine was the temperature—it was boiling hot.

The air conditioning system had stopped working, leaving the sensitive equipment in a rapidly overheating room.

“Great,” Chris muttered, grabbing his phone to call maintenance.

But Steve had other ideas. “Can’t we just open the windows?”

“Steve, this room doesn’t have windows. And even if it did, it wouldn’t help cool down the servers,” Chris explained.

“Well, what if we brought in fans?” Steve suggested.

Chris ignored him and got to work rigging a temporary cooling system using portable fans while waiting for maintenance to fix the air conditioning. After an hour of sweat, stress, and Steve’s increasingly unhelpful suggestions, the server room temperature finally stabilized.

As Chris wiped his forehead, Steve grinned. “See? You’re like a tech MacGyver!”

Chris groaned. “If being MacGyver means dealing with this every day, I think I need a raise.”
